Project Background

In 2020, a chemical company's coal gasification upgrade added a 35,000 Nm³/h ASU with a Siemens Energy® steam-turbine duo-drive train as core power for deep salt processing and combined ammonium chloride and soda ash production—under demanding continuous-duty requirements and high owner expectations for integration quality and emergency service, Domex-E delivered full train integration and commissioning support.

In May 2023, a trip-valve seizure forced an emergency shutdown; a project team happened to be on a local site visit and activated response immediately.

Technical Solution

Domex-E rapidly coordinated the steam turbine OEM, logistics, and field service teams in a joint response.

Emergency parts allocation, cross-regional transport, and on-site overhaul advanced in parallel to organize the repair efficiently.

Project Results

Work planned for roughly two months was completed in 2 days and 15 hours, restoring production and minimizing downtime losses.

A full post-event review strengthened emergency procedures and resource assurance for future projects.

Project Background

A 66,000 Nm³/h air separation plant relocation project in a high-altitude nonferrous metallurgy region. To help the customer save plant space and civil construction costs, Domex-E selected a combined compressor train configuration.

Technical Solution

Geopolitical disruptions delayed delivery of imported components, leaving an extremely tight on-site installation window. The Domex-E project team held multiple consultations with the EPC contractor and owner, developing pre-installation preparations and contingency plans to accelerate progress upon equipment arrival.

Project Results

After equipment arrival, service personnel worked consecutive shifts around the clock, completing installation and commissioning in 37 days — setting an industry record for large air separation compressor startup — earning high praise from the owner and EPC contractor.

Project Background

A 500 T/D all-liquid air separation booster train for electronic-grade gases, based on a Siemens Energy® GV series custom unit prototype, addressing the need for typicality and reusability in electronic gas industry investments.

Technical Solution

Domex-E signed a joint standardization design agreement with Siemens Energy®'s technical team to optimize and standardize this model, improving applicability and shortening future design and manufacturing cycles. As Domex-E's first project handling complete on-site compressor installation, gas path connections were changed from field-machined adjustment rings to clamp-style connections, with internal lube system cleaning completed before shipment.

Project Results

Despite basic site conditions and tight schedules, all installation and commissioning was completed in just 40 days, building standardized design and rapid delivery experience for subsequent similar projects.

Project Background

A steel mill's 35,000 Nm³/h air separation retrofit project. The owner's aging domestic unit had severely degraded efficiency and urgently needed upgrading. Domex-E prepared and refined multiple retrofit proposals during the project phase, ultimately determining a full unit replacement.

Technical Solution

As an energy efficiency retrofit, the owner faced significant energy compliance pressure. During shipment through commissioning, pandemic restrictions created major challenges. Domex-E service personnel persevered through lockdown difficulties alongside the owner and related parties to keep the project on track.

Project Results

The unit delivered 16.7% energy savings, exceeding customer expectations. After project completion, the owner commissioned Domex-E for a second retrofit of an equivalent-scale unit. Phase II successfully started up in 2025, meeting all energy efficiency targets.

Project Background

A 45,000 Nm³/h air separation feed air compressor project in the nonferrous industry. With surplus but unstable steam available, the owner adopted an innovative steam-motor dual-drive configuration with power generation — the first such Siemens Energy® compressor project in air separation.

Technical Solution

Domex-E completed the main unit combination design based on owner operating conditions, with Siemens Energy®'s engineering team handling all detailed design. Steam turbine and motor switch via clutch; during turbine drive, the motor can generate power externally at 9,900 kVA capacity.

Project Results

This project became a new benchmark for energy integration in air separation. Domex-E simultaneously completed main scheme designs for a series of small-to-medium steam-motor dual-drive units applicable to broader steam and power optimization needs.

Project Background

An overseas steel industry medium-pressure nitrogen booster train on an island with limited transportation and supporting infrastructure, where the owner placed high value on supplier technical capability and engineering solution expertise.

Technical Solution

To facilitate export transport and reduce overseas site work, Domex-E performed its first full skid packaging design, assembly, and supply of a Siemens Energy® GV series custom compressor. Per customer request, a Domex-E proprietary compressor PLC control system was included.

Project Results

After port arrival, on-site installation and startup were completed in under one month — more than two-thirds faster than conventional timelines — among the fastest GV series installation and commissioning projects on record.

Project Background

One month before delivery, an accident during second-stage impeller brazing at Siemens® Germany damaged both units' second-stage impellers simultaneously, preventing planned compressor assembly and creating major delivery delay risk.

Technical Solution

Domex-E immediately convened Siemens® Germany, the Huludao assembly base, and site parties for emergency coordination. The contingency plan: Unit 1 shipped without second-stage rotor installed to keep both main units positioned, foundations aligned, and site piping on schedule; Unit 2 shipped fully assembled for on-site replacement; Unit 1 returned to Huludao for second-stage rotor installation and reassembly. The team optimized manufacturing, transport, installation, and commissioning sequences across Germany, Huludao, and site resources.

Project Results

Both nitrogen compressors completed installation, commissioning, and successful startup per the owner's original schedule, meeting overall project timeline targets and demonstrating Domex-E's comprehensive execution in emergency response, cross-regional resource coordination, and complex project delivery.

Project Background

For overseas projects with high labor costs, complex construction conditions, and challenging site management, the owner demanded tighter delivery schedules and more efficient on-site construction organization.

Technical Solution

Following Domex-E's "Built in the Shop, Ready for the Field" design philosophy, the STC-GC80 main air compressor received partial skid packaging and the STC-GV(2-4-H) booster train full skid packaging — shifting equipment installation, piping, instrumentation wiring, and functional testing maximally to the factory.

Project Results

This significantly reduced overseas site installation workload and construction duration, lowered on-site construction risk and coordination costs, improved installation quality and successful first-start rate, and provided strong assurance for rapid overseas project delivery and stable operation.
