Field notes from the Domex-Engine digital platform and our engineering team: the issues we find in running machines, and how we help customers solve them.
Connect the data, find the savings
Water flow and stage temperatures on their own show only part of how a machine runs. Analyzed together with machine load, cooling-water temperature and other related readings, they show how the parameters connect and where energy use can come down.
Water flow swings widely while motor load barely moves
From 13 to 14 October, hourly-average circulating-water flow ranged from 1,200 to 2,000 m³/h, while main-motor current held between 928 and 959 A. The current flow may exceed the real cooling demand, and a moderate reduction would cut pump power.

Stage inlet temperatures run high and track the cooling water
Second- and third-stage inlet temperatures stayed above design. Between 07:00 and 15:00 on 14 October, cooling-water inlet temperature rose 6.0°C and the second-stage inlet rose 6.2°C with it. The target is to bring the cold-end temperature difference from about 6.6°C to within 5°C.
Read the caseHow Domex-Engine finds these opportunities
Domex-Engine links compressor and cooling-system data to surface energy losses that are easy to miss, sizes the room for improvement, and confirms the real result through on-site verification.
Track operating conditions continuously
Operating data from the compressor train and cooling system is collected continuously to follow parameter changes and trends, building the data foundation for analysis.
Find opportunities in how parameters relate
Beyond checking whether a single reading exceeds its limit, the platform analyzes data across measurement points, such as circulating-water flow against main-motor current, to find hidden energy losses.
Quantify the potential savings
Using design conditions, operating status and related parameters, it estimates the room for optimization and converts it into expected power reduction and annual electricity savings.
Verify the results on site
Engineers assess the optimization plan against site conditions, verify the effect while meeting cooling demand and safe-operation requirements, and calculate the actual savings.
